A lovely place to stay in the heart of Dorset |
Stickland Farmhouse is a charming Dorset thatched cottage in an enviably rural setting. Sandy and Paul have poured love into this listed farmhouse and garden, the latter full of lupins, poppies, foxgloves, clematis and delphiniums. It is the main dwelling of what was once a dairy and sheep enterprise located in the centre of the conservation area of Winterborne Stickland.
Originally there were three farm cottages built between 1740 and 1818 which were subsequently joined under one roof early in the last century and is now a Grade II listed property.
The house, though renovated recently to a very comfortable, modern standard, still retains its original features such as inglenook fireplaces and beams, recovered from ships in times gone by.
